育てる

さて、御言葉を一つの種にたとえてみよう。さて、もしあなたがたが心の中に場所を設けて、種をそこに植えるようにするならば、見よ、それがほんとうの種、すなわち良い種であり、またあなたがたが主の御霊に逆らおうとする不信仰によってそれを捨てるようなことがなければ、見よ、その種はあなたがたの心の中でふくらみ始めるであろう。そして、あなたがたは種がふくらみつつあるのを感じると、心の中で次のように思うであろう。『これは良い種、すなわち御言葉は良いものに違いない。これはわたしの心を広げ、わたしの理解力に光を注ぎ、まことに、それはわたしに良い気持ちを与え始めている。』

Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves–It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.

タネをまいたら、すぐに
芽が出るということはありません。
芽が生えてくることを期待して信じて、
水を、肥料を、与えていくのです。
育てるためには、何も見えない時間に耐える、
そういうことが必要になります。
