利益

おお、悪しき者のあの狡猾な策謀よ。おお、人の虚栄と意志の弱さと愚かしさよ。人は学識があると自分は賢いと思い、神の勧告に聞き従わない。そして自分独りで分かると思って神の勧告を無視するので、彼らの知恵は愚かであって役に立たない。そして彼らは滅びるのである。

しかし、神の勧告に聞き従うならば、学識のあるのはよいことである。

O that cunning plan of the evil one! O the vainness, and the frailties, and the foolishness of men! When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish.

But to be learned is good if they hearken unto the counsels of God.

自分のためになると思って、
判断していることが、かえって、
自分を害することがあります。
将来性よりも、目先にとらわれている、
ということでしょう。しかし、
そこから離れるのは、けっこう難しいです。

Q.自分とは？
十分に知った、と思った瞬間から、
それほど知っているわけじゃなかった、
と分かるまで、それほど時間は
かかりません。
知る、という探求は、きっと、
いつも現在進行形なのでしょう。
そして、それは、必ずしも、知的なことに限らず、
情緒的なこともあるのでしょう。
